Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio May 2023

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio May 2023
This week we have a Full  Moon in Scorpio  on May 5 at 1:34 pm EDT (find your time here).

With Full Moons, the Moon and Sun are opposite in the sky. This creates tension but completes a cycle and encourages us to find a solution to move outside or away from the opposing forces as play. A Lunar Eclipse adds more depth as the Earth comes between the Sun and Moon, blocking the light of the Sun from the Moon.

This eclipse is likely to bring up powerful emotions and profound change for a lot of us, and rest will be required as we move through this portal. We're wrapping up a story we've been working with for a couple of years now and we'll need rest and space to process and transmute. Many of us have been feeling the lead up to this eclipse for a couple of weeks with it getting stronger since April 28. Don't be surprised if you need more mental breaks, more naps, and more time to just be with yourself.

A Scorpio Full Moon wants us to dive deep into our world of feelings and shadows, braving the darkness to see what we uncover. After all, we have the light of the Full Moon to light our way and guide us through our inner caves, our companions in the darkness. This is a time of transformation when secrets slip, and we find it easier to share our desires with others. But we can also feel overwhelmed by the depth of our feelings. So at this Full Moon, it is an excellent time to sit and discover new depths of yourself. Mysticism and magic are also tools you could use to discover more, and the tarot spread below is a great launching point.  This is a South Node eclipse, which means there is a greater focus on releasing and letting go. With it being in Scorpio, we're looking at deep-rooted feelings and old beliefs that no longer serve us. We're using the ability of Scorpio to dive deep to excavate what is keeping us from evolving and growing.

On the same day of this eclipse, the Moon opposes Uranus, which adds more of the unexpected to our day. New, surprising news, especially on a global or collective scale, would not be surprising around this eclipse. Scorpio deals with the deep dark themes of death, rebirth, money, sex, and power, so news around one of those areas would be expected.
