Moon in Pisces

The myth of Pisces goes like this: a monster was about to eat Aphrodite and her son Eros, so they turned themselves into fish and jumped into the river to escape the monster. They tied themselves together with a cord to make sure they never lost each other in the rushing river water. So Pisces is most definitely a water sign that loves to swim, swim, swim.

This myth also leads into another point - using the water as a method of escape. You see in astrology Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune. And Neptune specifically is the master of illusion, deception and avoidance in regards to its shadow side traits (on the positive side: thinking outside of boundaries and labels, visionary thinking and opening our minds up to new possibilities). And in the myth Aphrodite and Eros jumped into the water to escape a monster, which was a great idea. But you must be careful that what you’re trying to escape is truly a monster and not something you’re just trying to avoid or hope will go away if you aren’t looking. The Moon in Pisces can really bring on intense feelings (that’s a water sign for you!) and we really need to acknowledge and honor those feelings as best as we can.

So while Pisces can have us feeling the urge to stay at home and sleep away the feelings, we do have to be cautious that we’re not avoiding the feelings. Sensitive Pisces feels all the feelings, and creative expression is always  good way to process hose feelings. You may be more tired an intuitive that typical, so be sure to rest and hide away. Dreams can also be heightened under a Pisces Moon, so keeping a dream journal by your bedside is always a good idea during this time.
